Today Easystep received their Certificate of Accreditation

What is TrustMark

TrustMark is a quality mark which operates a framework under which 30 plus scheme operators work in the RMI (repair, maintenance and improvement) sector, including trade associations, local government trading standards teams, and independent scheme operators. These schemes are approved to carry the TrustMark logo and recruit reputable and trustworthy tradesmen. This enables the TrustMark scheme operators to promote improved RMI sector standards, and tackle related issues such as better enforcement. All of these scheme operators are audited annually by TrustMark, to ensure processes, standards and complaint procedures are being maintained.

What makes selecting TrustMark tradesmen so worthwhile?

1. A firm’s technical skills have been independently checked through regular on-site inspections, as well as checks on their trading record and financial status;

2. Firms have signed up to a code of practice that includes insurance, good health and safety practices and customer care;

3. The approved scheme operator has checked and will continue to monitor the firm’s quality of work, trading practices and customer satisfaction;

4. Firms are able to offer an Insurance Backed Warranty;

5. Deposit Protection Insurance is available for consumers in the event a firm should cease trading;

6. Firms will be able to tell you about any building regulations you must comply with and may also be able to provide appropriate certificates;

7. If you have a problem or disagreement with the firm, there will be a clear and user-friendly complaints procedure to help resolve the issue;

8. The scheme is fully supported by Government, the building industry and consumer protection groups.

9. All of these checks will give you – Peace of Mind

TrustMark is a not for profit organisation supported by Government, the building industry, retailers and consumer protection groups.

Sometimes when you survey a staircase, you know its very unlikely a stairlift will fit especially if the stairs are narrow. Recently I was called to a old cottage in Leicestershire to survey a staircase that had a width of only 610mm and 3 x 90 degree bends, as soon as I saw the stairs I knew only one stairlift would fit, the Access Flow.

A few weeks later the Flow curved stairlift was fitted by 2 senior engineers who said it was the tightest stairlift that they had ever installed, but as you can see from the video below the Flow fitted perfectly with less then 10mm to spare.

Kingswinford-based stairlift manufacturer Minivator has been acquired by a Norwegian firm, signalling an exit by its private equity owners. The firm, previously owned by its directors and Gresham Private Equity, has signed a deal to become part of the Handicare family of healthcare companies which also includes Freelift, subject to regulatory approval.

The sale will yield Gresham a return on investment of 3.4 times. The £48 million turnover company said the board were in no rush to sell, but that it had found “the perfect partner” with the Handicare Group – which is backed by private equity firm Herkules.

Minivator chief executive Mike Lord said: “We were looking for a buyer who not only made sound business sense but who was also a great fit with the culture and values that Minivator holds at its core.

“We are delighted with the deal and are looking forward to seeing what the future holds. “We believe exciting times are ahead and being part of a larger and well-established group that holds similar ethical beliefs will open up many opportunities that will be mutually beneficial and rewarding.” The partnership with Gresham has allowed the company to significantly expand its activities internationally.

It has established operations in North America and Germany and has recently started its own manufacturing base in the Far East.
